The first Oktoberfest was held in the year 1810 in honor of the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig’s marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. Traditions have been since occurring, with festivities ranging from September to October, and we couldn’t miss the opportunity to don our Lederhosen and Dirndl-dresses! Let’s not forget the most important part – the beer and food! With traditional foods of wurst, brezeln and of course, Oktoberfest Beer and german chocolate cake, we may not have sounded the 12 cannon salute to kick it off, but we partied like we were in Munich with over 175 people in attendance. There was hardly a dull moment! Prosit!
