Go back to Life at The Fountains

An Extraordinary Overnight Adventure to Disney World

It’s not a completed holiday season without an adventure to the most magical place on earth, and The Fountains was surely not going to miss out! On December 3rd, we donned our Ugly Sweaters embarked on our overnight adventure to the Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on a cozy Escot bus! When we arrived, we watched Cinderella’s Castle get “Frozen” over to start the evening’s event and strolled on over to Pinocchio’s Village Haus and started to enjoy the unlimited hot cocoa and snicker-doodle cookies. To start the trip with a tour around the world, the whole group hopped on the It’s a Small World ride, and you better believe we were singing and humming that song all night long.

We did another ride before starting to watch the evening’s show at the Castle with Micky, Minnie, and friends as they sang holiday songs with their upbeat show that really made you feel the holiday spirit! After the show, we then watched the gorgeous firework show before heading back down Mainstreet to do a little shopping before finding the perfect seats to watch the Once Upon a Time Holiday Parade and leaving the park at midnight!

After a good night’s rest at the luxury suite hotel, Caribe Royale, we took to the road for the second part of our extraordinary adventure: Disney Springs! Many of our residents were interested in taking a sky high trip on the Characters in Flight helium air balloon. Unfortunately, it was too windy when we got there, but we didn’t despair! Instead, we traveled the streets of Disney Springs and shopped, had a deliciously huge lunch at D-Luxe Burger and noticed the balloon was flying! We gathered together and in two groups, took to the sky! 400ft in the air to be exact!

To end the trip on such a high note was truly amazing, and we had some of the best times on this trip. For some, it was their very first adventure to Disney or on the air balloon. For others, some hadn’t been back to Disney since it opened! We are so grateful to live so close to such a wonderful place and even more so that we were able to take 15 of our Inn and Town Center residents and 5 associates to enjoy this experience together.
