Boca Goes Green for the Cure with a Week Long Green Bench Celebration

Celebrating the 101st Anniversary of The World Famous St. Pete Green Benches and preparing for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Mr. Dick Holmes partnered a couple special events with Palms of Pasadena Hospital and the Alzheimer’s Association to celebrate with a cause! On Monday, October 1st at 1:00pm, the Mayor of Pasadena gave a dedicated proclamation to the new Historical Green Bench Stroll at a special unveiling on our property followed by a birthday celebration. On October 3rd at 1:00pm, The Palms of Pasadena Hospital walked over for the 2nd Annual Green Bench Stroll, officially starting at the newly proclaimed beginning marker of the Historic Green Bench Stroll. With a massive amount of residents from every neighborhood and many participants from the Palms of Pasadena, including their Director of Marketing, Judy Goetz, we walked together in solidarity down Pasadena Ave to the Palms of Pasadena. Awaiting us there was the Mayor of South Pasadena, Max Elson, Fire Cheif, David Mixon, Commissioner, Gail Neidinger, Robyn Liska & Kaylie Male of the Alzheimer’s Association along with the Palms Chefs and other supporters to welcome us. They had a wonderful light lunch prepared for all to enjoy, as well!

On Friday the 5th at 6:30pm, a wonderful Green Bench Ball with entertainment by Paul Palmisano occurred with many opportunities to win raffles, a silent auction, and a 50/50! Together, we raised $515 towards our goal of $3,500 with $132 of that going towards the winner of the 50/50! Carolyn only purchased the 50/50 ticket with her dollar in dimes, and was so shocked that she won! It was an inspiring event to say the least and we are so proud and greatful to our community in coming together to support this important cause!
